It was around this time three years ago that I started playing solo shows. After years of having a band of brothers surrounding me on the stage, I was suddenly showing up at gigs alone. Well, I wasn’t showing up alone – I always made sure to have friends playing before and after me. One of those friends was Todd A. He too was kicking off a solo-acoustic career. In those days, besides talking about music stuff or the awkwardness of being on stage, we also talked about how we’d love to live in California. He made the move shortly thereafter and has been playing up and down the southern coast since then. Now, three years later, I’m finally living in California too. We’ll be joining forces again on Tuesday, February 8th, at the House of Blues in downtown San Diego. Let’s hope some of the initial awkwardness has worn off.
