Statement

# Privacy

This site collects as little as it can. There are no analytics, no cookies of its own, no mailing list, no advertising and no tracking.

## The contact form

When you send a message, the form collects your name, your email address, the topic, the release you chose (if any) and your message. They are sent once, as an email, to David, with your address as the reply-to so he can answer you. The site does not store your message or your details anywhere.

If a message cannot be sent, the server writes a short error note saying that a send failed. The note never includes your name, your email address or your message.

To keep spam out, the contact page uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that normally runs without a puzzle. It runs only on the contact page. For this check, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser details, and it may set a short-lived cookie of its own, inside the check and on Cloudflare’s domain, used only for the check.

Your IP address is also used to limit how many messages can be sent: up to five every ten minutes from one connection (one an hour if JavaScript is turned off), and no more than 50 a day across the whole site. For this, the site keeps a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, never the address itself, with the times of your recent messages, and deletes it within two hours. These counts are not linked to your message.

## Analytics

The site uses no analytics. It does not count visits, set cookies or load tracking scripts. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first to say exactly what is counted.

## Cookies and storage

The site sets no cookies of its own. If you use the “Light mode” switch, your choice is saved in your own browser (local storage, as “theme”) so the next page remembers it. When you open an album from its cover, the site also notes that page in your browser’s session storage, so the cover can move back into place when you return; the note is deleted when you close the tab. None of this ever leaves your device. The Turnstile check on the contact page is Cloudflare’s own and is described above.

## Hosting and links

The site is served by Cloudflare. Links to streaming services, YouTube, the Wayback Machine and the bands’ own sites take you to those services, whose own privacy policies apply.
