--- title: "Through the decades · David Dewese" canonical: https://daviddewese.com/music/timeline/ updated: 2026-10-07 --- Three threads, 1989–2026 # Through the decades The Foxymorons, The Luxury Liners and David Dewese’s solo records. Every release, the dated moments between them, and where each fact comes from. Photo: Jen McDonald - The Foxymorons (circle) - The Luxury Liners (square) - David Dewese (diamond) Before the records ## 1989–1997 David Dewese and Jerry James met at church camp in 1989 and went to Poteet High School in Mesquite, Texas. By 1994 they were telling people they were in a band called The Foxymorons; then they found a drum kit in a Sunday-school room and started making noisy tapes. At colleges three hours apart (David at Howard Payne in Brownwood, Jerry at SMU in Dallas) they mailed each other mix tapes, and then songs. In 1997 David co-founded The Luxury Liners with his college friend Chad Edgington and moved with the band to Nashville.
